Hi! I'm an engineer, currently pursuing my passion at a startup in Bremen, Germany.

I completed my schooling in the city of Patna, India, during which I received several scholastic distinctions, including national and international level awards in Computer Science and related subjects. After finishing school, in 2005 I moved to Germany for higher education.

At Jacobs University Bremen, I studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with specialization in Computer Science. I worked at the Psychology Lab until 2007, writing experiments and analysis software for eye-motion tracking hardware. In summer 2007, I worked at the University of Gent in Belgium, as an intern in the area of psychoacoustics, electronic music and motion tracking, where I built interesting demos of motion-controlled virtual musical instruments and social dancing activities. I provided motion-tracking workshops and support during the International Summer School in Systematic Musicology during the same period. After returning to Germany, I worked at Algorithmica Technologies in Bremen, writing user interface software for fluid dynamics packages. Following this, I took a break from academics to return to India. During this period I traveled, met people and conducted independent research in the field of operating system kernels. During summer 2009 I worked with the FreeBSD project as a Google Summer of Code student, improving the FreeBSD kernel’s timing routines. In 2010 I created Mac OS X drivers for Intel wireless networking products.

My research and career interests include system software, embedded device programming, human-computer interaction, wireless networking and music technology. My strength lies in rapidly learning new technologies and applying the knowledge to build real products. Apart from computer engineering, I also have an interest in usability and product design. I believe that simplicity is the essence, and that usability should take precedence over features.

Currently, I work as the Chief Software Architect at TobyRich GbR, where I build smartphone-controlled toy airplanes utilizing the latest generation of Bluetooth technology. In my spare time I like to read, travel, compose music, and gaze at stars in the night sky (when weather allows).
